GLAMPING CAMPSITE

If you’re looking for a glamping campsite in easy reach of everything that Norfolk has to offer, then Driftways is the perfect spot.

We say we’re a perfect spot for glamping and camping as we’re secluded yet within a stone’s throw (almost!) from most of the main Norfolk attractions, beaches, walkways and rivers.

Many people choose not to even leave our site, but to give you an idea of what a typical day out may look like from our glamping campsite, within 30 miles you’ll find:

  • Southwold beach and pier

  • Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach

  • Gorleston

  • Bewilderwood

  • Framlingham Castle

  • The Norfolk Broads

  • RSPB Minsmere

  • Banham Zoological Centre

  • And so much more (just ask us, we’re always happy to recommend places to go and things to see)

To find out more about the best places to visit in Norfolk, we recommend visiting the BeNorfolk website.

A genuinely unique glamping campsite

You might think that once you’ve been to one glamping campsite, you’ve been to them all, but that couldn’t be further from the truth than at Driftways.

As an off-grid glamping campsite, we’re all about making your stay as kind to nature as possible. We’re deliberately generous with our glamping campsite pitch sizes and distance between each of our traditional high-quality bell tents. Keeping the biodiversity of the surrounding meadows is important to us, and so our site is never overly busy or packed full of people. We like that, as a guest, you can hear the birdsong, watch the butterflies and hear the whisper of the wind.

Being off-grid gives you something that not every glamping campsite can - a true connection with nature.

That’s not to say that you’re without lighting, and hot water. Quite the opposite. We have a constant supply of rechargeable lights, fantastic outdoor showers powered by a solar pump, somewhere to charge your electronic devices (in The Dairy) and your very own super-clean composting toilet (no sharing with your neighbours).

Each bell tent also has an outdoor glamping kitchen (with gas hob, kettle, pots, pans and utensils) and an in-tent log burner to keep you warm all night.

Why choose to glamp?

There’s no denying it. There’s something romantic about packing up for the weekend or week and heading into the wilderness to sleep under the stars and catch a glimpse of the first morning sun. But traditional camping holidays aren’t always just a ‘turn-up and unpack’ sort of affair. You have all your camping gear, tent, cooking equipment, sleeping bags, bedding, ground sheet and hundreds of other things to think about and unload.

When you visit a glamping campsite, you get to forego all the ‘hard work’ that comes with camping to simply enjoy a more stress-free, comfortable way of camping. Some call it glamourous or luxury, it’s still camping – just with a few more home comforts more reminiscent of a nice hotel (just without all the people and commercial environment).

There’s no need to leave your pets behind either – while traditional camping can be a little trickier with pets, glamping’s far easier as they sleep in one big open space with you.

As we say to anyone thinking of staying with us, please check out the reviews left by those who’ve visited us. We promise, you won’t be disappointed.
